There is only a third-sector bus from Aveiro to Costa Nova. It is so rare that it does not even show up on Google Maps.
I could have taken an Uber, but I was eager to learn about the local public transportation system. It’s interesting, after all.
I asked a few people and found the bus stop. (I should have looked it up beforehand.)
At this point, Portuguese is the main language.

When I got on the first bus, I was kicked off for some reason. Maybe it was full.
I didn’t understand the situation, so I asked an elderly couple nearby, but they didn’t understand English. However, a young person nearby told them to help me.
He kindly told me, ‘Just get on the bus and pay.’
I boarded the second bus and tried to use my credit card, but it didn’t work. (I think a special card is required.)
I was told to pay in cash. I took out some bills, but was told, ‘Coins only.’ When I said I didn’t have any coins, I was told, ‘Get off!’ and kicked off the bus.
It was fun to feel like I was travelling again after a long time.
Then a young man said, ‘It’s OK!’ and paid for my fare. I was surprised, but I accepted his kindness.
When the young man got off, I got off too. I asked him why he helped me.
He said, ‘Because you were in trouble.’ He pointed out which way was the beach and which way was the restaurant, then said, ‘Bye!’ and left. His selfless act was so cool, and I feel like there are a lot of people like that in Portugal.
I arrived safely at Costa Nova.
