A resort town near Lisbon. Head to Cascais, a seaside town.

It’s a 40-minute train ride from Lisbon to Cascais, where you can enjoy beautiful ocean views from the train.
If you want to enjoy the scenery, we recommend sitting on the left side of the train.

Please see here for information on how to take the train to Cascais.

When you arrive in Cascais, a wonderful beach awaits you just a five-minute walk away. The scenery is even more beautiful than the photos.
In summer, the European holiday season begins, and August in particular is very crowded. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting in June or late September.

Additionally, there is a 3-kilometre-long promenade between Cascais and the neighbouring town of Estoril. It is a beautiful walking path along the coast. We highly recommend taking a stroll along it.

When you visit Cascais, be sure to try some delicious gelato!
Santini is Lisbon’s most famous gelato shop, established in 1949. There is usually a line.

Once inside the store, select your ice cream container (cup or cone) and pay.
You can choose two small or three medium ice creams.

Personally, I recommend chocolate and Santorini! The sourness of citrus fruits and the sweetness of chocolate are a perfect match.
Portuguese gelato is delicious at any shop, and I recommend fruit flavours such as strawberry, mango, and lemon.

Since I had some time, I headed to Boca do Inferno (Hell’s Mouth).
There are wonderful views along the way. The sea flowing between naturally eroded rocks has created a beach that can only be found here, and you can enjoy it everywhere. That’s what makes it so great.

If you get tired along the way, take a short break.
There is a café called Lusophonica. I ordered an orange juice here. They add ice for free, which makes me happy.

The café is surrounded by white buildings, and you can relax while looking at the blue sky and sea.

Cascais is a small town, so half a day is enough to enjoy it.
Although it is far from Lisbon, English is widely spoken as it is a tourist destination.
A day trip from Lisbon is also perfectly fine.

If you want to see the best beaches easily, go to Cascais.
