A month has passed in Portugal.

There are many things I don’t understand. That’s why I always ask people to help me. I find myself helping people who are in trouble, and they all say ‘obrigado’ (thank you). A stranger grandmother pats me on the back and says, ‘Thank you’. It made me happy. A neighbour who had become a good friend of mine said ‘thank you’ to me for the third time, even though he didn’t speak English.

I feel happier than I should, even though I don’t understand a word of English here.
